May 6th **Designing D.I.V.A.S. CHALLENGE**

It is my turn to host and I thought I would make it a simple challenge since we have our SS challenges going on too. Plus I like the simple things, they always seem to turn out better than I expected.

Your challenge is to do an altered item. Could be jumbo paper clip, target mailbox, recipe box, tin, anything you can imagine. The only stipulation is it has to be a holiday theme. Any holiday, I think I might go with Christmas, for some reason I am kinda feeling that real early this year. I will post some pics of mine in the next day or two. Have fun.

Anniversary

We had a wonderful weekend. It was so nice to be on vacation, I think we both needed one. Well get ready because I have tons of pics for you to see, so this is going to be a long post.

We met up with about five others who had Challengers and ate lunch. This is us next to ours after lunch. It was such a beautiful day.

After lunch we took a ride (convoy :) ) It was so cool there were a total of six Challengers and everyone was breaking their necks trying to look at them all. We stopped along the way and took so more pictures. This is all the boys with their toys (oh I mean cars :) )

Here we are again by the beach. Again such a beautiful day.

This was on the ride to a car show. The cars behind us. The camera focused on the seats instead but I still think it looks pretty cool.


We decided to go to a car show that was in town, the guys tried to get them to let us put our cars in the show but it was for 1970 and older so they didn't quit fit that category. Oh well it was still fun and some pretty nice cars and trucks there. This was my favorite truck. I love the color.



Isn't that just a beautiful Camero.



These were another of my favorites, can you tell why. :)





Both the husband and I aren't real big Ford fans so when we saw this it made us laugh.



We were on a drive on the way to the beach and I saw this but of course we forgot to go back and besides I doubt it we could find our way back to it. If we didn't have the gps I doubt we would have been able to get back to our hotel. :)




We went to Colonial Williamsburg Va, this was one of the bridges on the way into the town. It had a little creak running underneath it.



The first stop into the village, we forgot to get out passes from the visitors center and we couldn't go in the buildings, but we got plenty of pictures from the outside.

We went back to the hotel to go to the visitors center to get directions to Jamestowne. They were supposed to have replicas of Chistopher Newport's 3 ships are docked in the harbor. Which they did but mind you we had already spent hours walking around Colonial Williamsburg......



So we went to Jamestowne, went into the visitors center there watched a 3 min movie on what to expect for the tour and they said to allow at least three hours to go through. We said no thanks we had had enough walking for one day. Oh well. I tried to get a picture of the sign but there were cars behind us and we couldn't just stop so I got one but with our thing on the windshield right in the center. :) Oh well.



That Sunday night the hubby took me to a five star restaurant for our anniversary. I forgot to get pictures of us but found these. This was the dinning room. So pretty.



Its called Opus nine. They even had a pinao playing music on its own. How cool. We were so out of our element but it was such a wonderful experience. They gave us complimentary champagne and on our table they had a place card that said Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lanham. How cool is that. We ended up spending like a $140 for the two of us but it was worth it. I mean the food when they brought it out to you was so beautifully decorated that you didn't want to eat it.



On our drive back we saw a Challenger on a truck and decided to snap a picture.

Ok I have a lot to blog about today..............................................

First off I made these cute little flower out of SU scallop punch. I found them on Paula's blog and I just had to try them. I think they turned out cute. I used SU Bella rose, pink pirouette, and kiwi kiss for the left one and SU washington apple, riding hood red and tangerene tango for the right one. Added a little rinestone brad for the center. Can't wait to add these to a card. :)


I bought my frist brayer for my birthday. (I got a michaels gift card from my in-laws :) ) So I had to try it out. And this was the end result. I used SU tempting turquoise, and pink passion. I then stamped the image (can't remember what set it is) then embossed in black.



Well our anniversary is this weekend and I bought the hubby something for his car. They are called door sills and they go on the bottom so you don't scratch the paint when you get in and out of the car. They say Challenger on them. He liked them and immediatly put them on the car. :)



Last but not least here is a video of the hubby racing the car at the track. :) He enjoys that so much.

Beeees

I know these are not the regular colors for bees, but I couldn't help but using them, I love these two colors together. I had so much fun doing this one. I just love the bee hive. I embossed the bee hive in SU white emboss powder and then bleached the image. I stamped the bees and then cut them out and used some pop dots and placed two on the bee hive. I used blue dew drops below the bee hive and for the center of the flower. I also add a circle paper clip right above the flower. For the background I stamped the bees all over in versamark, the used a spong dauber and stamped the bottom in versamark. Then I used SU emboss power and got it all covered, then for the bottom I just rubbed my finger over to remove some of the powder. I used the scalloped edge punch for the bottom and then just punched tiny holes. Hope you all like. :)

Fisheees

I found similar fish on SCS by Louy and decided to see what I could come up with. I had so much fun making these. I used a circle punch for the body, and a scallop circle punch for the scales. I had a small flower punch and used that for the lips. I then just cut some triangles for the fins. I used my scalloped edge punch to create some waves, I used three pieces, and layered them. And of course I added a little bow to the girl.

Trying to catch up :)

Well I haven't posted in a while, I have just gotten behind. So the hubby and I went to the track this weekend and he raced his new challenger. I think he did pretty good, but he feels there's work that still needs to be done. He's the proffesional so I am sure he is right. I got a bunch of video's so I will try and post them tonight, so you can check out his skills. :) I made two cards last week and finally remembered to take pictures of them. I will post them next, here in a few.

So it's our anniversary this weekend and I think we are making a trip to Virginia and going to Bush Gardens. We will probably be staying in or around that area. If anyone is familiar with the area and has local dining and entertainment suggestions, please let me know. Just looking for ideas on what to do besides the theme park. Alright let me get to uploading pictures and giving you all the details. :)

My Birthday

Well my birthday was yesterday and it was the best. I love my hubby. He got me an instyler and for those of you that don't know what it is... http://www.getinstyler.com/. I couldn't be happier, I already tried it and love it. He also got me a dozen roses. I don't care what type of flowers they are I love all flowers so how sweet. So I was feeling fine when I got home and the hubby had a long day so he laid down for a nap while I made a trip to Michaels, since my in-laws got me a gift card, figured I would go ahead and put it to good use. But by the time I got back I felt really bad...soar throat, stuffy/runny nose, ear ache, and hot (but no fever). So he ordered us some pizza and we had a night in.

I meant to post this the other day but forgot. I watched a video by Gina K about embellished flowers and decided to try it out. I love it. Craft Fair

Well I had a great weekend at the craft fair. Didn't sell to much but it was still fun. I made a total of $64 and a profit of $24. Oh well, they say that the fall craft fair has a lot more turn out, so maybe I will try. Who knows, we'll see. Oh and I had a request to do a girls wedding invitations, yippee. That should be fun.

I sold all of my pop up cards, people loved them, so I guess I will have to make a lot of them if I do the fall one.

What I have been up to lately.

I have been pretty busy lately. I just got all my Easter cards and out in the mail. I am participating in an embellishments swap so I got those out in the mail today. Lets see what else, oh I am also participating in a Secret Bunny swap, and I put all the goodies in the mail today also. And last but not least I am doing a craft fair this weekend so I have been working on stuff for that. I created a scrapbook kit, and two card kits. I also did a set of thank you notes for my good friend Alexis' house warming gift, just something to add to what we got her. Lets see.. my mother-in-laws birthday is they same day as mine (April 8th) so I made her a card kit and scrapbook kit out of SU candy lane dsp. I also added some stamps, and black ink pad and I am going to buy her a paper cutter too. So as you can see I have been keeping myself pretty busy. The pictures and more details are below, hope you like.

Oh also I just wanted to say thanks to all who have left me such wonderful comments, I am going to try my best to get to all of your blogs and leave some love too. If I don't get to you before my craft fair, hang in there, I will definitely be there after Saturday. :)

More Easter Cards

I was on a role and ended up making two more cards last night, and I also made envelopes to match. I tried out the accordion flower; I think it turned out nice. Also I am a huge Stampin Up fan, love their products, but I got some of their flower designer brads and I wasn't that impressed, I thought they were a little too heavy. Oh well still think they are cute touch to the card below.
